Day Ten

Today your student has been introduced to the specific expectations of the cookbook page. I have created a blogger site for your student's group to post one blog. This one blog will act as if it is one page of a cookbook. On this page some specific questions need to be addressed in order for them to meet all of the requirements.

• Why is this recipe important to the culture?
• Is it a traditional dish? If so, what is it?

• Does this dish have historical significance? - was it served to the king….
• Are the ingredients important to the economy of the country?
• Will the recipe be enough to serve the class – if not, show how to adjusted it.
• Where is the location of your country? – climate, main food source, import/export
• How is food used in this event?
• What is the significance of the dish to the culture?
• Why do you believe that this dish has become a tradition?

I will encourage you to help your student get hands on learning at home. Perhaps you and your student could cook the recipe at home with your student practicing adjusting the recipe to fit your family. If cooking is not an option a simple trip to the grocery store to see the ingredients that the recipe calls for.
